Peridot Solar: acquisition of 135 MW portfolio of ready-to-build agri-solar projects in Sicily.
Peridot Solar (PSL) is delighted to announce that it continues to grow its PV development pipeline in Sicily with a new acquisition of 135 MW portfolio of ready-to-build agri-solar projects developed by SENS (Solar Energy Solutions), subsidiary of Iqony, a German renewable Energy Company.
The projects are on track to start construction by the end of the year with the objective to be fully operational by January 2025.
With a surface area of approximately 230ha of installed Solar panels on monoaxial trackers and centralized inverters, the plant will produce more than 220GWh of renewable energy per year; that could supply enough energy to around 30.000 homes making savings of approximately 110ton of CO2.
PSL and SENS will be supporting agricultural activities by planting Olive’s trees for the production of Olive Oil by local producers and will also be planting areas of permanent meadows for the production of hay, melliferous pastures and the renovation of rural buildings inside the plant’s operating area.
PSL was advised on this transaction by Green Horse Advisory (Legal) and EOS Consulting (Technical); instead SENS was advised by DWF (Italy).
